Yoga has undoubtedly taken over the internet, with post after post of yogis bending into mind-blowing positions and different shapes. These usually take place on a beach or somewhere beautiful, and a green juice is most likely somewhere close by. It’s a setting we are all too familiar with, yet are more than happy to look at time and time again because, “all those wanderlust fitness feels”, right?
Just one quick search on Instagram and you will see #yogaeverydamnday and #yogaeverywhere trending. From celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson all being major fans, to your everyday girl-next-door yogi. Posting pictures of yoga poses has somehow creeped into our daily lives like a brisk walk around the park, and it’s perfect low-impact, core-focused practise is ideal for everybody, so go figure. Yoga never discriminates, and that’s one thing we are going to love about the ancient form of movement until the day we die.
Although yoga is becoming one of the more popular workout’s of choice (our friends at Third Space offer one of the best yoga class schedules in London, as well as Hot Yoga at their Tower Bridge club), there will always be a few poses we will have to leave to the professionals. So, to celebrate International Yoga Day, we look at the top yoga poses on Instagram and celebrate in awe.
Grab yourself a willing partner and give this balancing and bending act a go.
The Balancing Act
You need a partner for this one too, as you put your complete faith in them to hold you up as you balance.
The DAMN Straight
When you realise you never knew it was possible for legs to go that straight!
Lifeguard seat optional.
They say that friends are for life – but yoga friends, well they are for infinity!
Even guys are getting in on the yoga trend & with one handed strength plus ultimate core moves, it’s easy to make us feel a little bit uneasy!
The Ultimate Headstand
When the one and only Yoga Girl (aka Rachel Brathen) does a pose, we simply watch in awe.
Just in-case seated or standing yoga moves weren’t your cup of tea, why not try this mid-air one?
We would love to see your best yoga poses (or attempts), so make sure you tag @ActiveinStyle on Instagram or Twitter and we can share the love. And while you’re at it, why not kit yourself out, ready for a yoga session in our fave brands.
