Last week, Zanna van Dijk shared her super simple and tasty protein-packed cinnamon pancake recipe. It was then and there we decided that the only way to a woman’s heart (aka stomach) was through a fluffy stack of pancake perfection. But fast forward to this moment right now, and we are about to introduce you to the world’s best chocolate cookie brownies recipe (as voted by us ) which is a) super easy, b) nice and healthy, and c) downright amazing!

Teaming up with our friends at PhD Nutrition to inspire you to add more protein to your everyday diet, it’s as simple as getting creative in the kitchen and injecting more umph into your snacks. So, prepare yourself, find your best apron and get out your blenders to make these protein rich, squares of gooey goodness.

Give them a go and let us know what you think…. just looking at these pictures, our mouths are watering!!

Makes 9

  • 5 pitted dates
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • A pinch of unrefined salt
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tbsp pure maple syrup

Preheat the oven to 180c.

Line a small baking tray with a baking sheet and grease it.

Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl until smooth.

Pour into the lined greased tray and bake on the middle shelf for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through (a fork will come out clean).

Then for the sauce, chuck all the ingredients in a high speed blender (I used a nutribullet) and blend blend blend until thoroughly combined and smooth.

Pour over the brownies.

Have a foodgasm.
