We have been long time admirers of Madeleine Shaw’s philosophy, and have loved watching what she comes up with next. Her book, Get The Glow is a kitchen staple for those light and easy recipes, delicious treats as well as a beautiful reminder that living a happy life is simply one of balance and belief. So when we got word that Maddie was releasing an App, we got our hot little hands on our iPhone and downloaded it straight away.
Described as a pocket personal trainer, nutritionist and life coach, Madeline Shaw’s Glow Guides is designed as a program that starts on a Sunday and runs for 8-weeks. A happy number that can help you transform into a glowing version of yourself (feeling happier, healthier and more focused).
Broken down to into three categories – MOVE, MUNCH and MEDITATE – the flow of the App is simple, easy-to-navigate and laid out with a “no-excuses” mentality. When you are delivered everything in one simplistic way, there should be no room for error, because you totally, 100% have got this. Doing it this way allows you to be focused on the task at hand, and can track measurable results ultimately helping you see real, sustainable and positive changes in your life within 8-weeks.
Featuring recipes, workout plans, yoga sessions, guided meditation, inspiration and more, Glow Guides really has it all. The Live Broadcast feature (with celebrity appearances), also sees Madeleine check in live via the App either chatting from the back of a cab, at home on her bed, or out and about. This instant connection with her is truly unique and inspiring. Whilst she may be the lead Glow Girl, at the end of the day, she is just like you and I.
Glow Guides is about efficient training. Too often we as girls think we need to be slogging it out on the treadmill for an hour followed by some weights than the x-trainer (gosh I hope those days are gone). Madeline has teamed up with her best friend, personal trainer and yoga extraordinaire, Shona Verture, to create a weekly workout guide that can help you focus on breathe, movement and resistance training. All in all making your mind and body stronger. The classes are never longer than 45-minutes and are scattered throughout the week followed by a Sunday soul session, helping you get focused for a new week.
Covering everything from meal plans, shopping lists and recipes, that dreaded mid-week moment where you realise you have no food in the house can be a thing of the past. Glow Guides is your saviour, because each Sunday and Wednesday, you are guided through the most easiest meal-prep, allowing you to be prepared each and everyday to eat the nourishing, wholesome way.
Each personally designed recipe by Madeleine will also inspire you to try your hand at new creations and flavours, helping you to mix up your diet with the right amounts of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Plus the beautiful images are enough to make you want to put on your apron and get cooking. Watch out for the Date and Almond Balls. #bliss.
Madeleine makes you understand that meditation is one of the most simplistic life skills we can learn to love, and grow so much from. A new audio meditation guide is delivered each week that can be listened to at any time over the 8-week period. Firmly cementing this as one of the most crucial steps in the 8-week program, you will be eased into understanding the power of meditation week by week. A must-not miss step!
And if that isn’t enough, Madeleine tops it off by setting three personal goals each week that you can come back to to see how far you have progressed.
You see, Glow Guides really has it all. In today’s day and age, there is practically an App for everything, and considering we spend upwards of 90 minutes on our phone each day, it makes sense to do something worthwhile with it.
